No more Magpies

The following page is included in my blog but omitted from the PDF. I decided no more magpies after changing my research question, but I have included them here as I realised what a distraction they were, much like the distraction they can cause in real life.

I thought of making a dice game with magpies as an extra element to the design. Seeing as the magpie was there from the start of this project it seemed right that they should be included in the final outcome. I decided on a set of three dice. Initially I started working out how the magpies could fit on the faces of the dice. All three dice would be thrown at the same time and the magpies counted. Whatever the number would be in line with the poem. One face would be left blank to enable sorrow to be thrown.

It dawned on me after some time that a pyramid dice with numbers on the faces would not work. A a pyramid will always land on its face. To make this work the different numbers would have to be on the tips of the triangle.

The magpie dice is something I may revisit at a later date.
